Mississippi Health Ambassadors Initiative Gears Up for New Year

Dr. Thomas Dobbs addressing MHAI ambassadors

On August 11, 2022, after having monthly virtual meetings, the Mississippi Health Ambassadors Initiative (MHAI) hosted an in-person luncheon at the Mississippi Sports Museum where ambassadors came together to network and fellowship with other members of the program. Sixty-four ambassadors gathered to learn about various health topics from Dr. Thomas Dobbs, Dr. Daniel Edney and Dr. Victor Sutton. This meeting also served as an opportunity to administer an End-of-Year (EOY) evaluation to obtain ambassador feedback about the MHAI program. After thorough examination of the EOY surveys, it has been found that the MHAI program has been a positive vehicle for obtaining quality and pertinent information to Mississippi communities.

With such an impactful response to the program, we are now embarking on our second programmatic year. We are currently in the process of selecting new community members to participate in the MHAI program. After selections have been made, our first call will commence at noon on the third Thursday of each month, beginning this October.
