Position Title: YOUTH PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Function and Scope of Position
The Youth Program Coordinator is directly responsible to the Youth Programs Director for The Partnership for a Healthy Mississippi. The Youth Program Coordinator is assigned certain duties listed below as well as other tasks and projects deemed necessary in performing daily operations of the organization.

The Youth Program Coordinator is responsible for:

1. Assisting Youth Programs Director in the development of Youth Programs strategic plans, budgets and annual activities/events calendar.

2. Effectively implementing all Youth Programs activities, events and support/incentive materials and membership for teams and State Board.

3. Coordinating and facilitating Youth Program activities with other PHM entities.

4. Providing information to the Youth Programs Director as requested for youth programs web site updates.

5. Assisting Youth Programs Director with the development of all Teacher Education information and support materials.

6. Compiling and coordinating all Youth Program evaluation data for PHM internal evaluation.

7. Maintaining and updating the youth programs database(s) in a timely manner.

8. Facilitating program event dates/press information to local and statewide press as needed for release.

9. Develop initiative recruiting tools/activities for youth team membership for youth program teams.

10. Conducting presentations on the behalf of The Partnership as requested by various organizations and/or Youth Programs Director.

11. Responsible for Frontline State Board development and implementation of special projects.

12. Working with Youth Programs Director on obtaining bids, confirming orders and delivering of all incentives and other promotional items for all four youth programs.

13. Submitting program updates to Youth Program Director as requested.

14. Assisting with other PHM projects as directed.
15. Addressing communications issues and initiatives.
16. Manage media relations, including writing and distributing press releases and media alerts.

Position Specifications

Education Required
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.

Experience Required
3 years experience in health education, youth program development, public relations and recruiting or related professional experience.

Skills Required
Time management, self-motivation, excellent written and oral communication, self-directed, team oriented, basic computer literacy, and a commitment to the organization’s mission, some overnight travel.
